From JWIS
My name is Greg Schmigel. I am a street photographer.
My photographs take a quick candid look at everyday moments — the lives of the people and strangers that I encounter on the street or in public places. I find beauty in these simple aspects of life; the face of a stranger, the shadows or reflections of a man or woman or even the simple smile on the face of a passing child.
I have always felt that 90% of photography is about what the photographer sees. The choice of camera makes up the rest. My camera is an iPhone — the camera that’s always with me. I am not an iPhoneographer. I am a street photographer who simply uses an iPhone as my primary camera. Photography for me was not intentional — yet now, it seems essential.
